The Agilent N4431A RF electronic calibration (ECal) modulemakescalibration of vector network analyzers fast, easy, andaccurate.ECal is a precision, single-connection calibrationtechnique foryour vector network analyzer. Performing a full three-or four-portcalibration takes less than half the time and number ofconnectionsusing ECal versus mechanical cal kits. Furthermore, theaccuracy ofthe calibration is comparable between electronic andmechanicalmethods. Traditional mechanical calibrations requireintensiveoperator interaction, which is prone to errors. With ECal,theoperator simply connects the ECal module to the networkanalyzerand the software controls the rest.

ECal modules are transfer standards capable of transferringthefactory calibration accuracy to your network analyzer. TheAgilentPNA and ENA series of network analyzers controls the N4431Amoduledirectly through a USB interface. PNA Series networkanalyzersrequire firmware revision 2.5.
